A new beginning

Hi Everyone
I finally finished. I was an awesome experience. It's so amazing how tech world is really is out here in our society. I can see how some of these sites could be used in such a positive way in our world especially in library land.

Podcast

I put a podcast on my bloglines and my blog which it became a litlle bit frustrating. Some of the podcast don't work or maybe I don't know how to properly insert them but I tried to put one in and I think it works under LibVibe. It talks about library stuff. I had a chance to look at a site called Librivox which I have it posted on my blog that has to do with listening to audiobook for free online. I tried to search for three current children books and I was not able to find them. I don't know if it's a good site to listen to current books but I was able to listen to The Wizard of Oz. To be explored at your own risk. As far as downloading on MP3 I have one and I download from ITunes but I seen customers connecting their MP3 onto our computer so I'm assuming they are downloading from other sites and also charging their MP3.

Wiki wiki Sandbox

I'm back with wiki and I was able to play around with it longer. Guess what? I was able to post my blog onto the favorite blog which it was really cool. Also went further and posted under two of my favorite. It was music and animal which I think it is easy to do once you get a chance to play around with it. I didn't create my own favorite. I know myself if I do start one I will spend alot of time on it which I don't have too much time. So good-bye Wiki Sandbox I created my castle!!

YouTube

It's me again I think I caught up with the lessons. YouTube it's a cool site. My daughter uses it to watch anime clips. She may not have a MySpace account which she doesn't miss at all but she is able to use this site with caution. We oversee her what she uses on the internet. So this was my chance to use it. You have to view my video clips I posted in my blog. They are soooo cool! I don't know if I would personally post a video clip on the site. I can see how so many people post the craziest video clips online. Especially, the incident about the teenager being beat up by other teens is crazy to post something like that online. Like any site you have to be careful what you post. I can see library using this by announcing programs and results.

Web 2.0 Discovery

I was playing around with Guess-The- Google. It gives you pictures and you have to guess what search word you will use to find these pictures. Pretty easy to use. It times you which that is a bummer.
The second one I played with was Pandora which was a music site. You type your artist or genre you like and it creates a play station for you and you are able to share it with your friends. You can send it to your phone in a way but not sure about it And other stuff you can do with it. Just explore it yourself in more detail.
The last one I explore was the LuLu site which it seems you can get creative for all those writers who want to publish their creation. It seems as I understand you can get paid if someone buys you writing & they create an ISBN number for you. Need to explore more about it.

I liked the sites I explored so far. Didn't have a chance to look at them in full detail but it would be fun sites to go back to a play around in more detail.

Zoho Writer

I registered @ Zoho Writer. I think this program is neat. It's pretty cool that you don't have to have a Window program to do a document or other kind of stuff we do under microsoft. Also, the sharing it's pretty interesting to use when multiple people are working on this document or you need to have a teacher to view your paper or presentation. The features are the same as word programs. I feel comfortable using this site privately. I think using this program regularly I will understand the sharing component of it and the editing as well.

Wiki Wiki

I'm getting tired now. I looked through wiki and I found out about it. Like it saids it's easy and quick to create. The only problem I have is about going in and editing function where you can add as you please and delete. I don't know if the information is true. But I can see where Library can use to to post about their library events. I learned in one crash course I took that wiki is not the best source (wikipedia). So I am in doubt in using in wiki. I don't know how to post in wiki sandbox. Maybe I'll try another day. If someone can help it will be nice.
